Hi
When trying to change website preferences to give a list of family trees i get the following error message:

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /webtrees/admin_site_config.php on this server.

I am running webtrees 1.7.10 on an Apache/Debian 9.5 Linux platform. It is most likely a Unix privileget problem.

The whole webtrees directory and files, including the php script mentioned in the error messag has user:group = www-data:www-data.
So it seems the script is not executed using userid www-data as I would have assumed for an apache installation.

Looking at the output below it seems that the parent process of all the worker threads is owned by root whereas the remaining are owned by www-data as expected.
Any suggestion on how to solve this problem ?

Problem solved. Turns out it was caused by the apache modsecurity module I had installed some time ago which blocked the script. Solution is that I have to modify the modsecurity rule set to allow access to the admin_site_config.php script. Sorry for bothering. So the problem had nothing to do with Webtrees.
