fisharebest Online Administrator Posts: 11149	The mother has two husbands (i.e. two families). The son belongs to family #1 (i.e. husband #1). The relationship between the son and husband #2 is step-son / step-father. webtrees will show this on both of their individual pages.

Hello fisharebest,

many thanks for your response. I have a mother (Anna Louisa Both) with an illegitimate child (Johann Both), father is unknown. The mother marries Gottlieb Marczan after 11 months. The illegitimate child (Johann Both) has added to the new family. The child gets the surname from the stepfather (I have not yet recorded). The father Gottlieb Marczan I would have as an advertisement as a stepfather and a new surname of the stepson.

Remove him from this family. (Menu, Edit, Change family members). The relationship will now be shown as a stepson / stepfather.
