Update Tips and Tricks was created by makitso
Lets use this post to document fixes, suggestions, etc for using the webtrees update process. Let me kick it off with this one:

Upgrading with multiple trees;
There was a bug in versions prior to 1.7.2 that caused the automatic upgrade process to fail if you have multiple trees issuing an error like /app/Tree.php:596 Exception("Statement::execute() called twice.")

You have two options; 1) is to do a manual upgrade or 2) is to patch app/Tree.php as documented in the link below.

Tree Patch

Good point Rob: An other tip when upgrading to a newer version, you may be given the option to DISABLE any add-ons and extra themes. Sometimes this works, and sometimes not. If you find you get a BLANK PAGE for your "Module Administration," you will need to DELETE the older add-ons & themes. Then re-install the newer version add-ons one at a time.

Here we go again - the same problem, the same solution, but no one listens.
This needs to be made a "sticky."

I heard it, after I fall in both traps.

I would suggest a link to a recent upgrade-issues-readme nearby the upgrade button.

Thanks for the great software!
