So I have two family trees on my site and I wanted to know if there is anyway to restrict access to certain tree for certain users? So user A would only see family tree A and its info and user B would only see family tree B and its info. Is this possible?

Yes. Each tree has its own privacy and access settings.

In a user's account settings, you can select which trees have which access levels.

Note that a user will always be able to see whatever is shown to the public. So, the lowest access level is "visitor".

Of course, you may have configured your site so that visitors can see nothing.

I know where this setting is and have used it. But there is nothing in there lower than visitor. It would be nice to have one more option (show nothing)

where is this setting? my problem is that I want visitors to access one and not the other

"visitor" means the same permission as somebody who has not logged in. You cannot get lower than that!

What can be seen by a visitor depends on the family tree privacy settings. Some people show dead individuals to visitors. Some people do not. Your call.

I understand, we have one family tree we want to allow visitors to see dead people info on but on the other family tree, we want to restrict access to only certain users and for everyone else not to see anything

For the second tree (that you want to be seen only be members), go to the control panel and change the "Manage family trees -> YOUR TREE THAT SHOULD BE PRIVATE -> Privacy -> Show the family tree" setting to members only.

Thereafter you have to manually change the user settings to give them access to that tree.
