Here we go again! Same problem, different host. I don't understand why webtrees has to have a different installation routine than the rest of scripts that run on apache servers! Usually the setup just asks for Server Name, Database name, user name and password. Unless you are installing on your own computer the Server is NOT usually "Localhost" but some name that makes sense to the Hosting Provider.
Everything is filled out correctly but the setup script doesn't ask for a database name. Here is what I have:

Server: mysql.family.1xxx5.com
Port Number 3306 I guess
Database User account: annys_ if what they mean is User Name
Password **********

I don't know what 'same problem" means. I'm away from home and only have my phone so can't search easily.

We ask for dB name in the next step. You can connect to a myself server without connecting to a specific dB. Indeed, webtrees will create the dB if it can. If you can't connect then the server name or credentials are wrong

Hi Paul,

The server name in your post looks much more like a domain name than a server name.
Did you try to run the installation keeping the following?

Server: localhost
Port Number 3306
Database User account: name (supplied by your webhost to connect to the MySQL DB)
Password **********

Hi Paul,

If you have access to your MySQL using phpMyAdmin, you can see the name of the server, see the attachment. That will confirm the server name they gave you.

Thanks, Jackie I'll remember that. Actually the Servername was right all along. It was my User name that I had wrong!
