The issue with the (Dutch) surname prefix is still not completely fixed.

In the Netherlands there are a lot of prefixes possible. Some might look weird.
In the Netherlands they are written without capitals. In Belgium with a capital for the first letter
Some known prefixes are : “van”, “de”, “op”, “van de”, “van het”, “op de” etc..
For some reason this now works fine in webtrees
But we also have prefixes like “van ‘t“ or “in ‘t”
In webtrees those prefixes are not handled correctly.
If a person is named “ Wilhelmus van ’t Klooster “, and you add a son or daughter, the prefix and surname are as always filled in. But wrong!
As surname prefix is written “van”
And as surname is written “ ‘t Klooster”
I am used to it now, and it is no big deal to change that, so it’s not a big bug.
But I thought it was time to mention it.

Hi Leo,

I can see in Individual.php (around line 1158) that some effort is already taken to filter these out of the surname as the prefix.
Maybe you use another character than anticipated. The code looks for a simple single quote (') while your Dutch keyboard layout might output a back-tick (‘) or you type that in yourself.
Although, having looked at your site it looks like you already do use a single quote.

So another possibility is that the regex used to filter out name prefixes only can handle cases like "van", "de" and "'t", but not this specific combination "van 't".
Regular expressions... always a headache ;-)

This is simple to fix. I'll submit a fix later.

As said, it's no big deal, so if it's unsolvable then...pff. I can live with it!
But you are right Bert, about me using the simple single quote. I use a plain US keyboard.
My text (with the explanation of the problem) was written in Word and copied. Word changes the quotes I typed. Did not notice it until you mentioned it.

If I type it in webtrees it looks like this: " Wilhelmus van 't Klooster "

Sorry..... the never ending story.

There is still an issue with the surname prefix:
In Belgium they use prefixes with capitals, like "Van De"
If you want to add a child to someone with a name like that, the prefix is tranfered to the surname.
And that is not where it should be!!
