Hi guys,

I'm facing an issue where after running a Check GEDCOM errors, the following errors appeared:

FAM F0023 has a HUSB link to I0019. I0019 does not have a link back to F0023.
FAM F0024 has a HUSB link to I0019. I0019 does not have a link back to F0024.
FAM F0025 has a HUSB link to I0019. I0019 does not have a link back to F0025.
FAM F0037 has a CHIL link to I0019. I0019 does not have a link back to F0037.

So I went into phpMyAdmin searched for I0019 and edited the i_gedcom field in table wt_individuals for to include
1 FAMC @F0037@
1 FAMS @F0023@
1 FAMS @F0024@
1 FAMS @F0025@

Then I went to the table wt_families and checked that the field i_gedcom had the tag
1 HUSB @I0019@
in each of the three families above as well as the field f_husband had I0019.

I also opened table wt_link and checked that the the families and the individual were properly linked. However, after closing phpMyAdmin, opening webtrees and searching for Rafael Cavazos (he is I0019) the following messages appear and all his families tab is empty.

The link from "Rafael Cavazos Garcia" to "@F0037@" has been deleted.
The link from "Rafael Cavazos Garcia" to "@F0023@" has been deleted.
The link from "Rafael Cavazos Garcia" to "@F0024@" has been deleted.
The link from "Rafael Cavazos Garcia" to "@F0025@" has been deleted.

However if I go to each family he appears as the husband.

Can you help me fix this?

Thanks!
Alex

It's far easier using the regular interface of webtrees than editing tables. Just don't do that, unless there's no other option available.

Just navigate to the family, menu Edit - Change Family Members. Remove the husband and save.
Again Edit - Change Family Members and click on Change on the Spouse row. Look up the correct person and save.
That should do it...

> So I went into phpMyAdmin searched for I0019 and edited the i_gedcom field in table wt_individuals for to include

That was a big mistake.

phpMyAdmin will silently convert line endings from CR to CRLF. This causes webtrees to lose many of the links, as it finds "@X123@\r" instead of "@X123@".

Alex: I encountered similar problems; my error check resulted in:
INDI I1151 has a FAMS link to F409. F409 does not have a link back to I1151.
INDI I3761 has a FAMS link to F1397. F1397 does not have a link back to I3761.
INDI I5978 has a FAMS link to F2324. F2324 does not have a link back to I5978.
Each of these apparent errors DID have a "link back," but the error check routine found an "imbalance" as there were TWO links one way, and only ONE link the other. This was the result of my showing a relationship where an individual married a first cousin.
The error check is imprecise. You need to double-check yourself to insure that each of the links does or does not in fact exist.

If you have a link from one record to another (non-existant) record, then webtrees will delete the link for you.

Thanks for your replies. I will edit the families from within webtrees.

In learning how the media files work, I must have done something similar; I did an error check, Check for errors — Kessinger-Kasinger Family
Types of error
This may cause a problem for webtrees.
GEDCOM errors
INDI P1 has a OBJE link to M2. M2 does not exist.
INDI P1 has a OBJE link to M4. M4 does not exist.
INDI P1 has a OBJE link to M5. M5 does not exist.
INDI P29 has a _WT_OBJE_SORT link to M88. M88 does not exist.
INDI P29 has a _WT_OBJE_SORT link to M93. M93 does not exist.
FAM F1 has a OBJE link to M2. M2 does not exist.
FAM F1 has a OBJE link to M4. M4 does not exist.
FAM F1 has a OBJE link to M5. M5 does not exist.

As per suggestion, I deleted INDI P1 from the Family menu, then added him back, but the error persists. I tried relinking to the media, but a different iteration of it exists with the name M3. Any pointers are appreciated. Hope this is the right place to post this.

> The link from "AbcXy" to "@F0037" has been deletd

If a record contains a simple link to another (non-existant) record, then webtrees will (helpfully?) delete the link for you. You'll see this message when this happens.

> As per suggestion, I deleted INDI P1 from the Family menu, then added him back, but the error persists.

The error says that P1 contains a link to M2.

The fix is to delete the link from P1 to M2, not to delete P1.

If it is a simple link, webtrees can often delete it for you. If it is part of a fact/event, then you'll need to edit that fact/event and delete it.
