Hello!

Is it possible to enable notify the administrator by e-mail about the new user registration in the webtrees 1.7.7?

I think this is already in place.
A new user must be approved by the admin (or is there a config switch to skip that step?) and (s)he receives an email notificaction about that.
stamboom.BertKoor.nl runs on webtrees v1.7.9

Yes - this happens automatically.

If you do not receive emails, then perhaps you need to check your email/SMTP settings?

The email is sent to the "Genealogy contact" for the tree.

You can set this in Control panel -> Manage family trees -> Preferences

Unfortunately, it does not work.
e-mail is sent from the "Genealogy contact" to the new user.
The administrator is not informed of the registration by e-mail.
Letter about it is not sent to the "contact genealogy."
The administrator has disabled public write access.

Works fine for me, it's entered in... Control panel -> Manage family trees -> Preferences- > Contact information -> webtrees reply address

If there are no errors in your webtrees error log, then I guess that the email *WAS* sent.

Sending an email does not guarantee that it will be received. There are spam-filters, black-lists, etc.

Some mail providers will not accept mail sent by web-hosts, etc.

Do you need a web hosting solution for your webtrees site?
If you prefer a host that specialises in webtrees, the following page lists some suppliers able to provide one for you:

It's a bit strange that from the "webtrees reply address" reach e-mails about registration.
Also come messages to users.
Administrator did not receive e-mails.
The SPAM folder is empty.
Administrator did not receive return of e-mails.

Where can I find the "webtrees error log"?

So webtrees can send email to everybody except you?

Gmail will delete "obvious" spam, and moves "possible" spam to the spam folder.

If your server is on a blacklist, then your mail may be dropped silently without being returned.
For example, many mail servers will silently drop all mail that is sent from server-farms, such
as Amazon, Linode, Rackspace, etc.

There are lots of reasons why mail is not delivered.

In the log, there is no information about sent e-mails.
There is only
Login: Admin/M H
User registration requested for: XYZ
User XYZ verified their email address
Logout: Admin/M H
OK, I'll try to set up an account on another server and see if it works.
Which server do you propose?

Many people use a google account to send mail using SMTP.
I find it reliable.

I checked on a simple server t.pl.
Set [account admin]@t.pl in webtrees.
Registration e-mail reaches to the user.
There is no e-mail on account [account admin]@t.pl.

E-mail sent from webmail from [account admin]@t.pl to [account admin]@t.pl is provided.

OK, I'll try with a google account.

I'm very sorry. My mistake.
The "Genealogy contact" works well, except that there is given only a name, not an e-mail.
The e-mail is taken from Control Panel -> Users -> User Administration -> E-mail address specific to the Admin.
All the time I looked at e-mail "reply address webtrees".
Everything works well.
