Linux installation and personal hosting was created by Bronco
I currently have webtrees stored on an external hard drive attached to a Raspberry Pi. I'm trying to figure out how to allow it to run on my personal network first before I push it out to the Internet, however I'm drawing a blank on how to allow the system's localhost post it. I have Apache2 installed as well as phpmyadmin and MariaDb. Any pointers?

Sorry - I'm not sure exactly what you are asking here.
If you've got webtrees running on the pi, then you probably just need to set your router to forward incoming requests for port 80/443 to the pi.

That's the thing, I don't currently have it running on the pi yet. I have it on a hard drive and have it currently mounted. I use the actual IP address of my pi to access things like webmin or to even Putty into the system to manipulate files. But besides that, I still have no way to figure out how to manipulate the conf file in order to have it set up and actually be able to be ran.
I originally had it set up and running on my Windows machine but I wanted to move it to my pi.

There is a regular poster on this forum who hosts his site on a pi.
Perhaps contact him?

No, but I'm sure the forum search will find it.

I have written notes for the installation of a web server on the pi. It is not running at present on the Pi as I damaged the memory card last week but I have it on an old development server.

Could I possibly get your notes on it, that is if you are willing to give them to me? I would absolutely love to see if I can get my websites up and running.

Are you the webtreesonline? If not then I don't see/know where to look for this link that you are referring to.
