If you need to upgrade your PGV installation, then hopefully you will also consider that you can conveniently move to webtrees with our PGV-to-webtrees wizard. It will move ALL your users, news, favorites and family trees to webtrees in a matter of minutes.

I have installed webtrees on the same server as PGV and in the same database, but I can't find any link to the transfer wizard. I have tried several times to drop every wt_ table and delete the webtrees folder and reinstall from the beginning. Where is the link supposed to appear?
Right now I have no family tree at all, but I only see a note that I have to create a tree, no wizard link. If I create a tree, I can't delete it.

There was a PGV-webtrees migration tool in webtrees 1.7

It was removed from webtrees 2.0 because there is no version of PHP that would run webtrees 2.0 and PGV at the same time.

Install 1.7. Run the transfer tool. Upgrade to 2.0.

Aha! That explains a lot of the issues I had today. This method worked.
