Error in PO File downloaded from LaunchPad was created by mlocati
Hello to everybody
I'm writing a little program that helps me in translating webtrees. It will include HTML Tidy to check html (useful until webtrees texts includes markup), language dictionary checks, and some other useful (at least for me) stuff.
From the GNU gettext documentation, I know that there are obsolete entries (marked with #~), that is entries that were previously untranslated but after have been removed. Since it has happened that a little change in a long text caused the need to re-translate the whole string, it would be useful for me to read these entries too.
There are however malformed entries in the it.po file I downloaded from LaunchPad , In fact, I can see these lines
and
From the gettext documentation, the entries should be separated by empty lines, but the above samples don't follow this guidelines (two consequent items are messed up).
Is this an error in the LaunchPad export procedure?

I have just downloaded it.po (
launchpadlibrarian.net/50326124/webtrees_webtrees-it.po
), and I don't see these problems. For example, I see this
Do you still have the email from launchpad with the URL to the download file? Can you download it again? Can you give me the URL so I can download it?
Code:
#, php-format
#~ msgid "%s cousin"
#~ msgstr "%s cugino/a"
#, php-format
#~ msgctxt "MALE"
#~ msgid "%s cousin"
#~ msgstr "%s cugino"
#, php-format
#~ msgctxt "FEMALE"
#~ msgid "%s cousin"
#~ msgstr "%s cugina"
#~ msgid "<b>webtrees</b> message"
#~ msgstr "Messaggio di <b>webtrees</b>"
Do you still have the email from launchpad with the URL to the download file? Can you download it again? Can you give me the URL so I can download it?

Tomorrow (in 12 hours) I'll give it you. But I did a standard download and after opened it with POEdit: maybe is this last program that messed up the lines? Tomorrow I'll look at it...

It's POEdit that's messing up the lines. With the fact that not show the msgctxt, it's another reason not to use this program to translate po files...
