My site is hosted at CrazyDomains and they recently updated their system servers to PHP8+. The CPanel offers a variety of PHP versions for hosted websites, I am using webtrees 2.017, with PHP 7.44
It seems something in that PHP upgrade they did somehow increased the upload limit in my webtrees 2.017. I am not complaining, I had thought about following the instructions on how to manually do that through the webtrees software but now I don't have to!
Just suprised and figured I would mention it here.

Thanks for sharing. This topic actually came up this week where the opposite happened:
www.webtrees.net/index.php/forum/help-fo...ror-unexpected-token
Just so you know how it works, there are two simple PHP config variables that control it, plus the server itself (apache tomcat or nginx) can pose a limit.
It is reasonable to have some sort of limit, since it can be used as a way to attack your server. Suddenly having a full disk will cause problems that can bring it down.

Hi bertkoor,
Thanks for the additional information! I checked the PHP settings in my CPanel and they were set to 512MB!
I changed that to 8MB and my webtrees now shows 8192 KB as my limit.
The web hosting provider had a struggle with their upgrade to PHP8+, the server was down on and off for 40+ hours. They seem to have it fixed (I hope!) for 4 days now.
