Hi all. Maybe someone knows: is there something similar that I can install on my server?

This site uses "GENDEX" (genealogical index) files.
See github.com/fisharebest/webtrees/issues/3766 for some more info

I meant to build a search engine on my server that looks like FamilyTreeSeeker.com, which will look for matches in the trees.

I think the only thing which this treeseeker does which webtrees' Advanced Search does not, is specify the person should have lived within a period and/or is associated with a place.

There is a genealogical meta search engine:
meta.genealogy.net/
This allows you to search in many family trees stored in the archive GEDBAS. Or it will enable you to search in many indexed databases. My idea is to add a custom module zo webtrees that allows this meta search engine to search public data in one of your trees in webtrees. I started the development but is not finished because I'm involved in other activities, too (see
github.com/hartenthaler/hh_metasearch
).
