Automatic login if connected to Joomla was created by Halloy
Good morning,
I integrated webtrees in iframe into the Joomla site. Currently, I can limit myself to the connection to the family tree, other pages being public. But if I want to create private Joomla pages, I have to log in twice? I saw that there is a module for webtrees oauth-proxy. Would that answer my question? If so, has anyone already implemented it? And how?
Thank you in advance

Hi,
A little up: would it be possible to link the connection to Joomla and webtrees pages that are integrated? I now have Joomla pages for registered users. But they must log in a second time to access the tree. It would be nice to have one connection.
Thank you in advance

In the past (maybe, about 10 years ago), there existed a Joomla/webtrees "bridge". As far as I know, it is not available any more. I think it could be used for the former Joomla 1.x version only.
Like already mentioned by you, it might be worth looking at an OAuth2 approach with an OAuth2 provider in Joomla and OAuth2 client in webtrees:
- Joomla: OAuth Server for Joomla
- webtrees: Simple Auto Login
On fist glimpse, Simple Auto Login seems to support auto login only. Maybe, it might be possible to re-configure the module for user login also. I would recommend to raise an issue on the Github page and ask the module author.
