Reports Download was created by MaxTheSpy
Hello All! I am slowly but surely falling in love with the reports tab and all the different reports that can be generated and downloaded by my users. I was wondering if it was possible to add an identifier to each report such as the web domain or URL of my website or even just a name of the family tree? I know that some users have generated and downloaded reports for their own storage but if they forgot where they got it, thats it.

Anyone know how to achieve something like this?

I noticed on newspaper.com its a very similar report style but they have a web address that you can type in and get back to the image, also some other informaiton in there like the parent document you were looking at etc.

Its not a requirement for me, but would be really nice to have

Also see an older discussion:
www.webtrees.net/index.php/forum/help-fo...-pdf-reports?start=0

It contains reference to a git pull request which adds headers & footers to the pdf reports, which seems exactly what you want. But that PR still has status 'open' so nothing is done with it.

Why are there open pull requests? At least with a new revision, a pull request that has not been adopted, belongs in the trash.

Why are there open pull requests?
Because no one with the authority had time / opportunity / incentive to close them (either accept or reject)

I recall at that time Greg was occupied with other things and this might just have slipped through. There are currently 28 open PRs, the oldest even from 2015 (which indeed should be trashed) But with over 350 open issues (also some ancient ones) I can understand PR hygiene does not have top priority.

At least with a new revision, a pull request that has not been adopted, belongs in the trash.

No, it does not work that simple. In my experience PRs that have been on the shelf for a long time can be merged in with little effort, provided that meanwhile no big refactoring has been done. So not all is lost.

Im not super tech savvey, I just barely got webtrees up and running on an unused pc for hosting. I do think with as strict as many are with sources that not having documentation on where something came from, or the data accessed is a bit of an oversight.

I dont see how this could not be a baked in system.
