Some people in the family tree I am working on, have a good deal of text associated with them (multiple pages) describing their lives etc, others have short descriptions.

What is the best way to record this in a GEDCOM file, and in webtrees?

I'd like to have the story to be displayed prominently on the individual's page.

I tried adding an 'inline note', but this doesn't seem to show up anywhere (even if I click on 'Notes')

(I would add some screenshots, but I can't see any Attachments function at the moment...)

Regards,
Colin

There is one downside to Stories: these are not saved in GEDCOM. So after export & import the stories are lost.

Also they do not have (by default) the 'prominent' place you were hoping for, but shown in a tab. With some coding skills that probably can be altered by making a custom module.

stamboom.BertKoor.nl runs on webtrees v2.1.20

I write the story of a person in a word-document, online.
See:  keycam.nl/index.php?route=%2Ftree%2Fkeyc...-Chris-de-Keijzer-DK Look at "verhalen" (that is Dutch for stories). The link is to a word-file.

When I make a story of a person that is still alive I make the story only visible for myself (restricion).

I wouldn't put that on a public domain like onedrive or others. You have your own one! (and it is outside gedcom).

Control panel > Modules > All modules > Stories

Click on “spanner” icon to see list of stories and click “delete” alongside the story you want to remove.
