Question Sample trees availability

Hi,
The two trees used in the webtrees demo versions, are they available as GEDCOM files (including media files) for download?
Greek Mythology & Royal Family
It's useful to have a populated extra tree when messing around and testing stuff, and also to show things without having to tamper with my precious data.

You can find those files in the Internet, for example

Sorry, it is too large to present it here. In the past, many genealogists dealt with royal families, so have a look for other servers.
Obviously, you have a problem to reach websites. Ask your provider if its IPs are on blacklists.

If you search for " HEAD " on the demo servers you can see that these trees are made in webtrees by greg/fisharebest in 2013.

I found a Greek Mythology gedcom here:

at the link labeled "Download the current database", but it's definitely not the same. 56 kB zipped, 197 kB unzipped, 10.712 GEDCOM lines, 803 individuals, 373 families, 9 sources.

Another source of sample trees:  chronoplexsoftware.com/myfamilytree/samples/ (English royals and all the dead kennedies)

GEDCOM files usually don't contain any media, alas.

Da ziehst du falsche Schlüsse. Du hast von der Seite bestimmt keine GEDCOM - Datei heruntergeladen. Die Seite ist sichtbar, aber sie enthält nur Werbung. Der kaum findbare Link zum Runterladen der gedcom-Datei wird bei mir im Chrome nicht ausgeführt. Ich habe bestimmt keine Blacklist zum herunterladen.
 

I downloaded a Gedcom file from this page using Firefox.

I thought you referred to the whole website being for sale, but apparently not.
This is what's visible in Opera - private mode:

My chrome doesn't download that gedcom. I get no blocking info!

Microsoft Edge does download. I will investigate why Chrome does not. (Never have seen that blocking until now in chrome)
 

I will not tolerate your tone and your insinuations.

I'm aware that there are other sample trees out there. The question was about the exact trees used on the demo websites, if there's a repo somewhere that I had missed that contained them for example.
When doing modifications to webtrees, it's useful being able to compare the exact same page with the "reference" demo sites.

Transferring GEDCOM files with media files is possible with the GEDZip format.

Seems so, as if not.

ps: seems as if you all have installed Ad blockers

As I asked, if you have a copy of this gedcom, would you upload it here. You could zip it up I'm sure it wont be that big!!

Otherwise could you send it by private email in a zip format please??

Looks like it is not a properly formatted Gedcom of some 107.000 lines and some 14,000 lines with errors.. I might have a play and tidy it a bit, just so it can be used in a sandpit type environment..

If others would like a copy let me know your emails I can pass it along.. Or if you would like to wait for me to tidy it and then get it, let me know.

Why not ask @Greg politely if he would be so kind to publish the demo data as a gedzip ( therefore including the media) on github?

I am guessing it is your hard work that has put them together and would totally understand a negative response.. However if one does not ask one does receive! <Smile>.

At the next opportunity, take the initiative, ask a search engine, a chatbot or whoever and search for yourself.
