Question Potts Modern theme for webtrees 2.2

Hi all, I have created a modern responsive theme for webtrees 2.2.The theme includes:

• modernised navigation and dropdown menus
• refreshed individual and family pages
• styled facts and events cards
• improved family navigator panels
• updated interactive tree presentation
• responsive desktop and mobile layouts
• configurable colours and layout settings

The project is open source under the GPL and is available on GitHub:

This is currently a beta release, so I would appreciate feedback from users with different webtrees installations, languages and module combinations.Please let me know if you find bugs or compatibility issues  and include your webtrees version, PHP version and a screenshot where possible.

Thanks you! I have added three colour pallets and plan to add more soon. You can set them in the settings page for teh module. I created a module for the family books but it isn't quite ready for release. I will post when ready.

Yes. I wanted to make it inline so if you are reading about an individual and they migrate at some time in their life you can easily change historical facts to appreciate more context around the life or world the lived in. The module will soon be ready for me to share.

Your theme is very interesting. I am using webtrees from its first version, and used PhpGedView also for some years. I never used a custom theme. This is the very first custom theme I am really considering to use.

I see there is a lot of work for full use of it.

• vesta fact and events tab is displayed in different way (no rounding) than standard fact and events tab
• on some persons I have no fact/event icons. where the icons are displayed, then no possibility for editing this fact/event is displayed 
  
  
  
• family tab has a different design
• displaying a shared note with a big table (for example census transcript) is a problem - no possibility to the most right columns (to be honest this is a problem also with standard themes)
• shared notes - the table with persons attached to this note is breaking the design
  
  
• there is no icon for FAQ - this is a standard menu, so it should have one. Nice to have a general icon for all other menus (like the Data Check menu) 
  
  
• I am using the Extended family module from @hermann the silhouetts (when no photo) are not displayed. As far as I understand the classes icon-silhouette icon-silhouette-m are missing.

I am using a lot of modules so it is possible that they can have some impact on the display.
 

Thanks Rola, that’s very helpful feedback. I’ve addressed the FAQ icon issue, including translated menu labels, and I’m doing one more compatibility pass for wide note tables and generic third-party module icons. I don’t want to hard-code support for every module, but where the issue affects normal webtrees content or general theme behaviour, I’m happy to improve it.

Thanks again for the detailed feedback. I’ve released Potts Modern Theme v1.1.0-beta.62 with a few compatibility improvements based on your comments.

This version includes:
- FAQ icon support, including translated FAQ menu labels
- better handling for wide shared-note/source/narrative tables, so census-style transcript tables should scroll horizontally rather than breaking the page layout
- a generic fallback icon for unknown third-party module-style top-level menu links

I haven’t tried to hard-code support for every third-party module, but I’ve tried to improve the general theme behaviour where custom modules or large note content could make the layout look broken.

Only thing I have come across is that some of the data entry boxes are very short (I am using Chrome browser)

For example here in login username and finding an individual for a chart
