Most common surnames was created by pab
Top 10 common surnames are listed in alphabet order.
Can there be an option to list them in frequency order (with a count of their number) as well.

I wonder if "pab" is referring to the list of "Most common surnames" on the Statistics Block, not the real Top 10 surnames block?

That is (deliberately) in alpha order. It is not a "Top 10 list". It is just a list of the most common surnames. A subtle difference perhaps, but important. The number of names listed is limited by the GEDCOM configuration option "Min. no. of occurrences to be a "common surname".

The "Top 10 surnames" block has a range of display options (set on its own config pop-up), most of which are numeric, except, as Stephen said, the " tag cloud". None are alphabetic.

So, if I'm right and you are referring to the stats block, just add the Top 10 block to get a numerically sorted list of the Top 10 (or however many you want).
