Open multimedie view in new tab or window was created by WeT-Klb
Is it possible to open multimedia files in a separate tab or window? I always have the problem to open let´s say a pdf-file and then afterwards out of routine closing the file on top right - so whole webtrees is closed.
It would be nice if the media file opens in new tab - so when closing it you are back in webtrees.

There is an FAQ entry about opening links in new tabs/windows.
webtrees.net/faq/target/
You could modify the logic to apply to the types of link that cause you a problem. e.g. filename ends in .pdf

@Greg
I am not really that familiar with those things - especially when i read "Please don´t do this!".
Just to make clear (because i am reading about external links on that faq article) - when i open an individual´s site, choose multimedia and from there i open let´s say a pdf- or jpg-file - are these "external" links?
To open those files in own tab i need to modify "CSS and JS" according the document there, right?
Thanks
Werner
