One of the things I find myself losing some time over nowadays is deleting and re-uploading media images. This because the parish records I used have now been scanned with higher resolution, and I'm slowly updating the old images with the new ones.. I would like to not have to delete the old image and upload a new one (all other data associated with that image stays the same), and instead simply replace the file in the file system.. Not sure if webtrees stores any metadata on the database (file size, etc.), but I don't think it does.

I find it easiest to upload a new image with the same name as the old one directly to the server. This overwrites the old image and you don't have to change anything else.

But a built-in replace function within webtrees would be even better.
