Multisite Setup was created by TopQuark
I setup multiple webtrees with each pointing to the same database. The config file was modified to have their own port all running through a proxy. The media files were placed outside of the webtrees directory since they are now shared by all sites. It seems to run very well. I have not seen any issues so far.

Is there anything obvious that I should be aware of before spending more time about it? This was brought up years back in this forum but it is not clear if this setup is feasible or not.

In case you ask, the advantages in having this setup is to have different landing pages for each family so it is more personalize with each having their own domain names and themes. Some families know each other so they want to "peep" into other family trees to see how they are related to each other. Best of all, administration will be a lot easier in just maintaining a single database.

One disadvantage is the analytics have to be manually setup for each family. All sites are running webtrees-2.1.0-alpha.1. Other than minor quirks, this version works great!
