Having difficulty adding a New Ancestor to my tree. I am the administrator of The Hendee Family Tree. I have purchased the manual. Perhaps I have yet to find my answer there. But, here is an example of my issue. I have an ancestor named Zebulon Hendee in my tree. I wish to add his wife, Barbary Fullerton. I follow the "Add Wife" GUI and, as the Admin, I approve the addition. However, when I show Zebulon's tree with family, Barbary does not appear? What am I doing wrong??
Though the Marriage with Barbary does not appear in the Tree, just below in the "Facts and Events" the marriage appears. See screenshots attached

Are you actually using beta version 2.1?
In version 2.0 please find the “families” tab and select it.
At the bottom of the page you should see “add a wife”, this will bring you to a new page to add this person’s information.
Once added and excepted you should see the wife and family on the “family navigator” at the side of the screen and on the “family tab”.

From a cropped screenshot, it is often hard to guess which page you are looking at - so I may be wrong...
This looks like a family page, and you have a family with one child and no spouses.
In which case, these are the mother/father of the individual - not his wife.
> I approve the addition
There are change to the existing individual, the new spouse and the new family.
Did you approve them all?
There is a "pending changes" link at the top of the page whenever any pending changes exist.d

Your first screenshot shows a family with one child and no parents.
webtrees doesn't (shouldn't) let you create such a family.
Family records link two or more individuals together, and whenever you remove the second-last family member, webtrees will delete the family.
So, I guess you imported this family from a GEDCOM file. This is the only way I have been able to reproduce this situation.
The 2.1 release will be able to handle this case.
But for 2.0, you will need a simple workaround.
1) delete this (one-person) family record
2) go to Zebulon's page and add a parent from the families tab.
3) this will re-create the family record - now with two individuals.

OK - I'll give this a try and see where it goes. I also will check to see if I am using the latest version.
On another note, I will be teaching a genealogy class in the fall of this year at our local State College. The class will center around creating a family web domain and using the WebTree application. The class at this point is familiar with applications on their computer and connecting them to the web to research. Though these apps are all capable of creating a family tree online, they lack the ability that ownership of their own domain can bring.
Many Thanks For All Your Help,
Paul E Hendee

If ToyGuy were around, he'd chime in and say "the name has a trade mark, it's spelled webtrees, not Webtree (small w ends with s)"
