How to add a business? was created by jessewebdotcom
My family owned a travel agency and multiple family members worked there. I have various photos, newspaper clippings, websites, etc for it. How to I add the business and its photos, etc? And then how do I add it to each individual?

Record their occupation with the "Agency" field filled with the name of the family business.
Connect these facts/events to a source (or multiple)
You can also add relations like "employer/employee" to note a son worked in his fathers business.
You can make use of a Shared Note to connect the individuals that worked there as well.

stamboom.BertKoor.nl runs on webtrees v1.7.13

GEDCOM is a genealogy application and therefore not perfectly suited for family history.

HOWEVER, you can tackle this several ways.

1) As noted by Bert, use the OCCU tag (occupation) to indicate their work as a “Travel Agent” and create a source with images and a shared note with information about the agency.

2) Create a PROP tag (property/possession) and indicate the agency and a source with images and notes.
1 PROP xyz Agency

3) Create a user defined "fact" with sources, notes and images such as:
Code:
1 FACT xyz Agency 2 TYPE Business Owned

4) Use any of the above and Instead of using a source and note use a _LOC record with images and text.

I use option #4 for information about all kinds of places, including towns, farms, businesses, cemeteries that the individuals in my database were located. In a _LOC record you can embed images and inline notes.

This post seems to violate our rules because it has nothing to do with webtrees and contains unwanted advertising.

Asking how to put advertising on webtrees might be a bad idea, but it is not the same as putting the advertising on this forum.

To add it, you can try creating a business page on platforms like Google My Business or Yelp. Share those cool photos, newspaper clippings, and website links to give it that personal touch! For the individual touch, you could create profiles or posts for each family member, linking them to the agency. It's like building a digital family tree of travel pros!By the way, ever thought about consulting insolvency experts for your travel agency? Just kidding! Keep spreading those travel vibes, and here's to a digital journey down memory lane!
