Ist das so normal? Diese stammen alle von einem einzelnen Individuum.
Auch bei anderen Individuen tritt das auf.

> Ist das so normal?

No. This is not normal.

Look in the changes log (in the control panel) for this record.

Did all the CHAN records get added at the same time - or one at a time?

Unfortunately i deleted the logs because I thought they cause those entries.
The only thing i changed is to install the download_gedcom_with_url_v3.1.0-module to store the gedcom-file automatically every day to my NAS.
Is it possible to get rid of those CHAN-entries? Are they needed?

Btw - i still have one copy of the whole webtrees-folder before deleting the change log on an external HD - is it possible to restore the change log from there?

I tried to create a change by adding a nickname and deleting it again.
I still have as much entries as before - but now all have today´s date.
I have no idea what to do.

You could try to remove your change records by using a RegEx as given in the attached example. But be careful and check the previews before updating anything. Furthermore modify the DATE and TIME entries according to your respective records.

I would start with only one of your individuals and repeat your former tests after having removed the according change records.

Before I use your advice i would like to understand some things.

1. As all entries have the same information - how can I make sure i don´t delete them all at once?
2. How to modify the DATE and TIME?
3. The preview show it also would delete 0 @X1@ INDI

Sorry for that much questions - but i don´t want to run into big trouble by losing information.

BTW - the preview result would be (personal data i replaced with xxx, yyy or zzz)
:

1. As all entries have the same information - how can I make sure i don´t delete them all at once?
You can see the desired modification when you click on the preview button. The stricken text will be deleted.

2. How to modify the DATE and TIME?
Just modify the search patterns of the RegEx should you have different change dates in your individual's records.

3. The preview show it also would delete 0 @X1@ INDI
I don't see that because the text isn't stricken.

Sorry for that much questions - but i don´t want to run into big trouble by losing information.
That's Ok.

Do you think i could accept this?
Looks good to me.

Ok - i was brave enough to try it - and it seems it worked. Only needed two hours... hahaha
I´m so curious about that - some entries only have one CHAN-entry, others have 2 or 3, others even more than 10 and some don´t have at all.
It´s quite hard to find the doubles.
I copied the gedcom-file into excel, then i made Excel so highlight all cells ending with "@ INDI" in blue and all cells with CHAN in green.
Then i checked where there are more green fields between blue fields (for sure there was a more easy way).
And according thos entries i cleaned up step by step my tree.
Let`s see if this problem will show up again.
Thanks so much for the friendly help.
Werner

I would have deleted them all, cause I do not work with that date.

You have to use a more powerful search pattern for your RegEx. But again, be careful and make use of the previews !!!

1 CHAN\n2 DATE .*\n3 TIME .*\n2 _WT_USER .*\n

Ah got it - thanks for that explanation.
But does there have to be a "." before the "*" or is it only to show there is a space between?
1 CHAN\n2 DATE .*\n3 TIME .*\n2 _WT_USER .*\n

A point . means that (almost) any character can take its place.
An asterisk * means that the preceding expression may occur any number of times, even zero.

By the way, I added a "Last change" "Show to no one" "For all datasets" under "Privacy restrictions".

As Franz said this is RegEx syntax and works as a placeholder. Did you give the modified RegEx a try?

To be honest - in the moment i am happy to know how to solve the duplicate problem.
But of course i wanted to understand the syntax of the new search pattern.
Thanks so much to you and to Franz for your support.
