Question Module Reminder

I am using the module Reminder of Uksusoff.
Now I am looking for a subscription function to that module, other than send me an email.
Maybe I have to send a modify request to Uksusoff?

Maybe an alternative to the Reminder custom module could be the custom module Webtrees-MailSystem (see  github.com/06Games/Webtrees-MailSystem ). You can find all custom modules in the German webtrees manual .

So ist das auch hier wieder mit dem Verstehen.
Ich denke sie will, dass jeder selber klicken kann, ob er einen reminder erhalten will oder nicht.
Das geht bisher nur über das Control Panel.
Es sind aber auch nur wenige Klicks.

@Franz: just that is the reason that I suggested using the module of 06Games. This allows similar functions without the need for additional activities of an admin.

Da muss der administrator doch auch einstellen, wer die mails bekommen soll. Und unübersichtlicher ist das auch noch, da alle aktivierten Anwender einfach hintereinander weg aufgelistet werden.
Und dann sehe ich nicht auf Anhieb, wie die verschiedensten Meldungen auf unterschiedliche Anwender verteilt werden können.

With all respect, Marianne... Your tree has over 164.000 individuals, so statistically there are nearly 450 births to celebrate every day. If I would get emails like that, I'd report the sender to his ISP for spamming me.

So either there is some sort of selection of what is "interesting" to be remembered about (close relatives, direct ancestors) or there is something else I don't understand.

But yeah, I guess you need to request the feature with the developer: github.com/UksusoFF/webtrees-reminder

@Hermann: what exactly is in the newsletter produced by the 06Games module? I cannot find any information about that.

there is only one mail per user independant of number of birthdays(events) and you can select if you want dead persons or not. So its not that much.

If installed the settings are selfexplanatory, indeed a short overview of functions in githubs readme.md would be helpful.
 
 

As you can see at  github.com/06Games/Webtrees-MailSystem there are other possibilities besides sending a newsletter every day to selected users:

  /mail-sys/help
  : lists the available endpoints.
• Code:

  /mail-sys/get
  : lists all changes in JSON format.
• Code:

  /mail-sys/html
  : a preview of the mail that will be sent.
• Code:

  /mail-sys/cron
  : should be called regularly, it will check if a mail should be sent.
• Code:

  /mail-sys/send
  : force the sending of the newsletter (requires administrator rights).

So you can offer those links to your users which allows them to ask for information on demand. Or you can set up your cron jobs individually. Or you can use JSON and define your own filtered reports. Or ... 
 

Ich blicke das System nicht. (Mit den gelisteten mail-sys - Seiten ausser /html erhalte ich nur ein paar json-Strings)
Kannst du vielleicht mal beschreiben, was zu tun ist, um das gleiche Verhalten, wie beim Reminder zu erreichen?
Oder kann man das irgendwo nachlesen?

Der User will doch nicht aktiv eingreifen (webseiten aufrufen), um eine Info zu erhalten. Er will eine mail zugeschickt bekommen.

@Franz: zu 06Games/Webtrees-MailSystem:
Man kann das sehr ähnlich wie das Reminder-Modul nutzen. Man legt auf dem webtrees-Server xxx einen cron-Job an, der täglich läuft: Damit bekommen die Nutzer eine schön formatierte E-Mail mit den Geburtstagen der lebenden Personen an diesem Tag (je nachdem wie es konfiguriert wird). Der Vorteil ist hier, dass auch Fotos mitgeschickt werden können (sofern vorhanden) und auch auf Änderungen im Stammbaum hingewiesen werden kann. Hier liegt aber die Aufgabe beim Administrator bzw. Web-Master alles passend zu konfigurieren.

Aber dieses Modul erlaubt es auch alles an die Nutzer zu delegieren, die müssen dann ggf. selbst einen cron-Job auf ihrem eigenen Rechner aufsetzen, müssen sich JSON holen und dieses dann hübsch präsentieren. Nichts für einen normalen Nutzer, aber flexibel für einen erfahrenen Nutzer und unabhängig vom webtrees-Administrator. Eventuell kann man als Administrator ja auch eine Anleitung für Benutzer schreiben, die genau auf deren Bedarf zugeschnitten ist.

Du sagst es: nichts für einen normalen Benutzer und somit die ursprüngliche Frage nicht beantwortet.
Auf "Meine Seite" kann ich die gewünschten Infos auch erzeugen.
Außerdem sind die meisten Benutzer vermutlich auf Windows unterwegs.

You said it: nothing for a normal user and therefore doesn't answer the original question. I can also create the information I want on “My Page”. Also, most users are probably on Windows.
