Images changing orientation was created by ksajdak
A few images uploaded to my site have switched orientation.
The user uploaded a landscape picture, and you can see the image displayed properly when clicking on the thumbnail. But in the record, the thumbnail displays as portrait.
Any ideas?

This is a bug in the graphics library that creates thumbnail images.
The bug is fixed in the latest version of the library - but this only works on recent versions of PHP, so we can't use it in webtrees 2.1 as this needs to run on PHP 7.4
So, the fix will not be available until webtrees 2.2 - which will require PHP 8.2 or higher. I hope to release this just after PHP 8.4 is released in November.

Forgot to add that . . .
Running version 2.1.20

I’m going to get the host to up PHP to 8.2 or better later today.
I’ll let you know.

Updated to 8.2 PHP.
I’ll bet the program needs a chance to regenerate the thumbnails.
Or is there another fix?

As Greg (fisharebest) said: "the fix will not be available until webtrees 2.2".
So, even though the graphics library bug has been fixed, webtrees can't use it in version 2.1.x - you'll have to wait for 2.2.
