I have an install of webtrees and 4 family trees. No sign in required. I went through each of the home pages (signed in as admin) and set them to be all the same. However, when I view as visitor, two of the four do not show all the menu buttons. There should be 5:
  1. Home
  2. Lists
  3. Reports
  4. Charts
  5. Search
Two  only have one (Home) showing. The other blocks for the page display as intended.

I have them checked and set to Visitor. But maybe this isn't what I should be seeing - no list of the 4 trees.

Ah, ha. Found the problem. All better. Thanks (Didn't realize I had to set each of them, thoughit visitor setting was global.)

Turns out, the setting to Visitor for all 4 didn't work. Two still don't show all the menu buttons.

Is this your “adfamily” site? Only the control panel there only shows two trees.

Actually, your last image only shows a setting for one tree.

Did you click on the edit icon (pencil) under Access ?

OR - did you click save after changing each access setting?

Correct. There is only one setting per menu. Recall that maybe I should have 4 - one per tree?

Are you saying that even though they show correctly, I need to edit menu button 1. Close. Save. Got back to Mues and repeat for menu button 2, etc? If so, why say "Close" instead of "Save"?

Yes.

Although you should be able to set them all, then click 'save' just once for that whole menu.

Then repeat for each other menu item.

You'll know it's worked when you see 4 access settings displayed for each menu item.

Per the image I showed earlier -- the below shows for all menus.

Which should mean Visitor access to each.

Conclusion after @macalter provided me with access:

All settings are correct for all the 4 trees installed on this site.

For me there is no display problem. All the enabled main menu icons (5) display for each tree.
But for @macalter they all appear for two trees, but only two icons for the other two trees. This the same in multiple different browsers.

Very odd.

(ps… I have modified the title. The issue only relates to the main menu icons display)

I've tried it as well on multiple browsers (chrome & Safari) even on both Windows & Mac, but if the settings are OK then there is definitely something wrong.

The middle two trees have only the tree switch plus a Search menu item while the first and last trees also have lists, reports and diagrams.

By copying the tree name into url of another, you can see that access to e.g. list of shared notes is not allowed:
therebbes.rbcsolutions.ca/index.php?rout...heRebbes%2Fnote-list

stamboom.BertKoor.nl runs on webtrees v2.1.20
