Add source field to names and genders was created by tashtari
Hello again, fellow web-arborists,
Related to but distinct from my recent post... the edit pages on most fact types on individuals or families in webtrees have the option to add a source, but names and genders do not. They display fine if I put sources in using "edit the raw GEDCOM", but this is a bit cumbersome. Is there a way to add those fields to the edit pages for names/genders, or should I file a feature request?
Thanks!

GEDCOM does not allow SOUR (or any other subtags) on SEX.
To keep edit forms small/manageable, not all edit fields are shown by default. On many edit forms (including edit name), you'll see a link "edit with all fields".

Oh, interesting, I didn't know that. Fair enough.GEDCOM does not allow SOUR (or any other subtags) on SEX.
Thanks for pointing that out to me. Is there a way to customize the default fields that appear with the edit-name form at the configuration level (as opposed to getting into the code and all that entails)? To keep edit forms small/manageable, not all edit fields are shown by default. Webtrees tries to follow the syntax of GEDCOM 5.5.1, so it won't let you put in an entry if it's not legal. Having said that, sources are allowed for names, so you can access the field by selecting "Edit with all GEDCOM TAGS" on the edit form, or go to Control Panel > GEDCOM tags and remove the checkmark beside "Source citation" in the "Names" blockHello again, fellow web-arborists,
