Incorrect Time of Birth\Death after upgrade WT 2.1.19 to 2.1.22 was created by Newbie67
Hi all,
I have just upgraded my webtrees instance from 2.1.19 to 2.1.22 and facing issues with incorrect GEDCOM tags for time of birth and death.
Those times I had entered with previous version(s) of webtrees are now showing as incorrect INDI:BIRT:SOUR:DATA:DATE:TIME.
When looking at the GEDCOM data it shows as 5 15:00 below the source section instead of 3 15:00 at the INDI:BIRT section
As this counts for all my individuals for which I have entered a time, how can I mass update the records ?
Also wondering if anyone else faced the issue as well

INDI:BIRT:SOUR:DATA:DATE:TIME isn't valid GEDCOM.
INDI:BIRT:SOUR:DATA:DATE is the date that a source entry was originally created. GEDCOM does not allow you to store a time here.
How did you enter this data? In webtrees? In another application?
> how can I mass update the records ?
Can you post the full GEDCOM data for this BIRT record.
Unless we can see the exact data you want to update, it is difficult to provide instructions.

Yes I added all timestamps using WebTrees, but not sure if the faulty ones are entered with which version.Maybe there was an earlier bug, which was already fixed and I noticed it just yesterday on some older records.
Example

2 PLAC Delfzijl, Eemsdelta, Groningen, Nederland
2 SOUR @S53@

Also want to check the 'errors' reported within the control panel - Check for errors. I have many records like below (which do not give an error when editing the record) which looks correct to me ?.

First: ignore the INDI:BIRT:DATE:TIME error messages. That is legal GEDCOM in the GEDCOM standard 7.0 (like INDI:DEAT:DATE:TIME and INDI:BURI:DATE:TIME). So wait for that (webtrees is more GEDCOM 5.5.1 oriented at the moment).
About INDI:BIRT:SOUR:DATA:DATE:TIME: as Greg said, this is the date that a source entry was originally created. I'm curious: how do you know that that source was created 125 years ago exactly at eleven o'clock? Is the time important for the source?

Well, this is how it goes in The Netherlands. The day after birth, or one of the next days after, a father of a newly born child takes two witnesses and walks with them to the closest town hall to report birth of his child. The civic clerk writes down the details, not only of father, mother and child, but also of the witnesses, and also of himself. The report in the register starts with date and place, I think I've seen ones that include the time of day as well.I'm curious: how do you know that that source was created 125 years ago exactly at eleven o'clock?
Probably not. Each entry in the register has a sequence number which is more useful to find it back when needed. Is the time important for the source?

FWIW I also have documentation on the time of birth and death in old Chinese written records. I used to record these until I figured that culturally, those times were more related to astrology and were meant to convey good luck to the child’s’ birth or elders demise. So I don’t bother to record them anymore. Also, in ancient China, a child is traditionally considered 1 year old on the day of birth. It makes it hard to wrap my mind around this. I am not sure of the veracity of the time stamps; I fear there are ulterior motives to adjusting the times.
Probably not. Each entry in the register has a sequence number which is more useful to find it back when needed. Is the time important for the source?

In the topic it was the time when the source of a birth was documented, not the time of the birth itself. I have many birth, death and burial events with TIME, but I never saw the INDI:BIRT:SOUR:DATA:DATE:TIME before.
And yes if the time of birth was manipulated to have a better karma you cannot know that.
When a child is one year old we say in Germany that it is celebrating the first birthday. In Austria, some say that it is the second birthday because the child is starting into the second year of life (starting with birth as the first birthday).

To me that seems perfectly logical.. Happy Birth Day = day of birth = 1st birthday at birth and +1 each year..When a child is one year old we say in Germany that it is celebrating the first birthday. In Austria, some say that it is the second birthday because the child is starting into the second year of life (starting with birth as the first birthday).
