Hello to each other,
first of all a very big praise to Greg. I dared yesterday and started the conversion from webtrees 1.7.20 to 2.1.6. The biggest effort was the move from the directory /data with 2.2 GB. The rest went almost by itself. I had not imagined it to be that easy after the extensive descriptions.
Everything looks great now. Now the individual finishing touches are still missing.

When I wanted to send a message to my more than 500 users, the process stopped after a while with a lot of error lines.

Would someone please be able to explain to me what the problem could be?

If I remember right: this is an already known issue that should be solved in the next release. But when searching now I could not find it.

Chek if you have users without a set language (check the users list in the control panel).

Hello Hermann and all together,
thanks for the quick feedback.
I had also searched for a possible error message before and found none.

I have since checked. All users have filled the language field.
At first I had thought that it could be due to the next user according to the sorting. That was the DEFAULT_USER. I renamed it to ZZ_DEFAULT_USER, so that it comes to the back in the sorting. But it did not work.

The now following user had entered "en_US" in the table. However, when editing the user, WT shows Africaans. I don't know where WT gets the setting from. After changing to German and again to Africaans, "af" is saved.

Unfortunately, one can not select more closely with a mail to all users afterwards. Therefore, I would not like to send out the third mail for the first users before Greg has reported.

Best regards / Viele Grüße

en_US should be en-US

Hyphen - not underscore.

Hi Greg,

thanks for the feedback. I have changed two more candidates.
And now the action has gone through, although not all users have received a mail. (For whatever reason.)

Most likely the mail WAS sent OK - but was blocked by a spam-filter.

Yes, webtrees logs them:
' 2023-04-25 16:54:20,"error","Cannot send email: Expected response code ""220"" but got code ""421"", with message ""421 4.7.0 dd42120.kasserver.com Error: too many connections from 85.13.141.199"".","91.4.44.63","luenissla","<none>" '

Maybe webtrees would need to take a break now and again? ;-)
With over 500 mails, that's already a lot.
