Thank you for your immediate reply, I have already installed it and activated the relevant points, but it did not solve the problem.
Can you explain the problem, which is not solved? Can you provide a screenshot what it currently shown in your webtrees 2.1 and Repository Hierarchy installation?
You can also post an issue on the Github page of the custom module: github.com/Jefferson49/RepositoryHierarchy/issues
With using the Repository Hierarchy custom module, it should look like this:
Additional note: In the screenshot, the details of the source citation are not shown. There is a webtrees setting within trees to "Automatically expand sources", where this behavior can be changed. There is also an additional setting within Repository Hierarchy to show additional information about the repository of the source: "Show additional source facts (REPO, REPO:CALN) within source citations."

The selection points you mentioned are all activated.
Unfortunately, no media can be seen, only when I click on the titles of the source citations are the media objects there.
But when I click on the edit symbol, the link to the media object is missing - that might be the problem, in version 1.7 the images were apparently still displayed.
Could it be because in version 1.7 the sources themselves were displayed on the sources tab and not source citations? (see my screenshots from the first message)
It should be a tedious task for me, I have over 8000 pictures...

I guess the observed behavior is related to the difference between a source and a source citation. Both of them can contain media objects; even the same objects. This might be confusing on first sight, but can make sense. For example, you could add all pictures taken from a certain church book and add them to the church book source. In parallel, you could add the one picture from a birth entry and add it to the source citation within the birth record of an individual.
Example Gedcom for a source with media objects:
Example Gedcom for a source citation with media objects:
Please note that the media object @M7527@ is referenced in both structures (source and source citation).
What you see in webtrees 2.1 and also in Repository Hierarchy are the source citations, either linked to a fact/event (like BIRT in my example Gedcom) or directly linked to the individual. If the media objets are references in the sources itself, they are not shown here. However, you can see the media objects of the sources if you open the source itself.

Yes, this might be an explaination. However, I do not remember 1.7 and cannot cross check. From a methodology point of view, the behavior of webtrees 2.1 (show source citations) seems to be more correct. Maybe, this was changed between 1.7 and 2.1
Additional hint:
In webtrees 2.1 you can decide with a checkbox "show all sources", if you only want to see the source citations linked directly to the individual or if you want to see all souce citations from all events/facts.

If you want to test it and have feedback, it would be best to share it on Github.

When we display a source-citation, we do not show the media attached to the source - just the media attached directly to the citation.
It would be straightforward to change this (and show both types of media on the citations).
It has been discussed several times on the forum, and each time, the consensus here was to keep the current behaviour.

I agree. I'm using it the same way. Sources can be used multiple times and contain generic images while source citations are unique to the fact/event and contain images associated with that fact/event.I for one did not want images associated with the Source_Record shown in association with a fact/event because the Source_Record for me is used to display general images about the source such as the book cover, title page, web page, while the source_citation displays specific images relating to the fact/event data being presented. In a report I don’t want book title pages showing for every citation that uses that source object!

A shared source_citation as suggested in github.com/FamilySearch/GEDCOM/issues/348 would resolve that issue. Maybe you could join and support that request to give it more weight.
