BC Dates was created by Antony
Hi all
Firstable, i wish you an happy new year
May be you had already discuss about this problem but i didn't find it
I know that gedcom is not designed to handle BC dates but is there a trick on webtrees to get around the problem?I try "-", "b.c", "bce"
Thanks in advance

Why do you assume that GEDCOM does not support BC dates? It is in that standard at least for more than 30 years. How would you exchange all those Egyptian pharao databases otherwise?
You can enter for example 44 BC in webtrees and it will be stored conform to GEDCOM as "44 B.C."
Maybe you noticed the small "?" icon right of the input line for a date. Click on that, you will find the format for several calendar systems and for BC dates.

Thank you for your quick response..
I thought I read that this wasn't possible . So this is good news
I tested by modifying directly on webtrees and it's perfect.
I work from a gedcom from heredis and it does not take into account the information.. I have in my gedcom:
"DATE ABT -2970" which becomes "ABT 2970" in webtrees....
Should I modify the gedcom before importing or is it possible to make the correction on webtrees?
thanks to you

If you are moving to webtrees and dropping your previous application, you would be able to update webtrees with the correct date, 2790 B.C.
If you plan to continue using your previous app, then you should start entering the data correctly in that program!
No need to change the GEDCOM, my example was done in webtrees!

Heredis stores a date B.C. as a negative number when exporting GEDCOM (DATE -100 instead of DATE 100 B.C.). I verified and reported that bug.
