www.webtrees.net web site upgrade was created by makitso
The
www.webtrees.net
web site utilizes joomla and kunena for it’s content management. The site, originally developed over ten years ago, needs to be updated to the latest, supported versions of joomla and kunena. However, the site and kunena templates can no longer be used for the site. Therefore, a new set of templates have been created.
I have put up a demo site for those interested in testing and providing feedback. The site is webtrees.skatekey.net and is password protected. The username is webtrees and the password is pluto.

Hi Rob,
Thank you for your work on upgrading the webtrees website.
My only suggestion so far would be to dial down the box shadows on the forum, definitely reduce the amount of blur.
The shadow on the right hand side of the Author panel could go all together in my opinion.
Otherwise seems to be working well.
Regards,
MurrayJ

The "My Topics" has no time-span to select, so there will never be a topic of the past! I think that is the reason for "my topics" being empty or may be all are shown , but none of the former site.

So, in the dropdown box, to the far right of Topics, if you select "year" you only get one hit?

May be I overlooked that (button). (Imho the buttons should have a background, to quickly see the clicking possibilities).
Imho I would like to have the default time span at another value than "last login". I would like week, but may be a personal setting or the last used value is more suitable.

I know it was a lot of work to bring the forum up to date. Many thanks for that!
Nevertheless, I don't find the new format optimal. Far too much space is wasted on avatars, footers, buttons, etc. Not enough space is given to the really important information, the posts with the questions and answers. The supplementary information is overrepresented. You are only scrolling - especially on the smartphone.
I personally found the old view much clearer and tighter.
Just my 2 cents.

Ditto. I could not place the cursor under the quite. Btw solved by pressing <source> button.
Also there's an issue with [code] blocks. Indentation is lost.
