I have this issue too, and believe it is inside these limits.

I believe the limit is around an hour, fwiw. I dont time it.

Janith, I increased the Joomla timeout to two hours.  As a test, I opened a topic reply window , typed a few lines, noted the time. After an hour and fifty minutes I hit the return and typed some more.

If you encounter another time out please advise as to what specific actions you were doing and the timeout response.
