GEDCOM usage now and in future was created by Bogie
Hi,
In former versions when adding a new INDI with only the birth name it was added to the database without any type.
Since webtrees 2.1.x the birth name now gets the additional line "2 TYPE BIRTH".

- I would like to know whether it is recommended to add those lines to all INDIs retrospectively?
- Furthermore will it presumably become mandatory in future GEDCOM versions?

If the TYPE is missing, webtrees assumes "TYPE BIRTH"
So, no need to change it. But if you know this was definitely the birth name then why not add it.
It is not mandatory in GEDCOM 7, and I doubt that it will ever become mandatory.
There will always be cases where the name type is not known, so we must be able to leave it blank.

And although it defaults to "birth" in the add form, the menu does have a blank space at the top. I've been selecting blank on most of mine, since I usually don't know whether the name in some sources is the birth name. I know blank is assumed to be "birth" but I prefer a possibly incorrect "assumption" to a possibly incorrect assertion. If the TYPE is missing, webtrees assumes "TYPE BIRTH"

I just imported to 2.1.14 the latest Kennedy Test tree from FTM.
Since there are over 3600 yellow entries (Warnings I assume) would it be possible to do a summary at the end?
Imported with 15 errors, 3637 warnings, 15 (blue, I assume informations)
I am working with there TS to find out if it was exported with their latest Version 2019, or if it can be exported with different options.
