Hi all.

When adding a HTML block to "Home page" or "My page" the block will show up with its default name -> HTML
Many of us have several HTML blocks on these two pages and (I for one) find it difficult to know which block is which when I want to move a single block up or down.
Each HTML block are given a title and holds whatever content you put into them.

What I would like to see the next time I want to customize "Home page" or "My page" blocks is their actual block title:
Like
"Block title"
or
"HTML (Block title)

Hope you understand what I mean ;-)
Regards,
Hans Anton

Hi Hanton,

I agree with you. It is not obvious to know which is which..

Should this thread be moved to « Request for new feature »?

Hi Jackie,

That would realy make my day! ;-)
(IMO) I think it would be best to have block names like "HTML (Block title)" to separate our self made blocks from the default ones.

Hi Hans(sorry),

How webtrees would know in advance the Title of your block?

I don't know if it is possible to get the title after its creation. Greg could tell us if this is possible to code.

Hi Jackie,

I'm pretty sure it's possible .. info about the block title or ID must be stored in the DB .. else it wouldn't show in the blocks on these pages either?
Anyway, I'm also sure our Oracle (Greg) will sort this out ;-)

It would also be great if the HTML blocks were just removed from the actual page and not deleted when they are moved to the center column.
One may want to put the HTML block back on the actual page at a later time, so that they would act more like the default ones.
Else, the next time one have to make them all over from scratch again.
They would still need to have an option to completely delete them though...
