Fancy Tree View PDF-file was created by Yvonne K.
Hello together !
First I want to wish you a Happy New Year !

I have got a problem with the PDF-file in the Fancy Tree View.
Before webtrees has been updated (1.7.11) all worked fine. I also updated Fancy Tree View and integrated the new module for the PDF-file.
But now I often get the message that the PDF-File can't be created. I Think I will get the message if the files are a little bit larger. Small ones will be created.
Is there a possibility to solve this problem ?
I liked to use this PDF-files for other researchers.

Have a nice day !

I had the same problem. It seemed that large PDFs are not generated anymore.
I use webtrees 1.7.12 and Fancy Tree View 1.7.11

I unchecked "Show singles" in the Fancy Tree View options and it worked.
So if you do not need to show singles this might work for you.

webtrees 1.7.12
PHP 7.3.1

Hello Harrie24,
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who has got this problem.
In the moment I create these large files with an extern PDF-creator which creates PDF-files of websites.

Have a nice day !

Hello Harrie24,
No, unfortunately your solution doesn't work. Today I looked if "show singles" is activated, but it wasn't.
So, it is no solution for me. But it is nice to tell me that it could be a solution.

Have a nice day !

Hi Yvonne,

I don´t know if you stiil have the problem with PDFfiles.

I had to put

ini_set('pcre.backtrack_limit','2000000');

in the includes/session.php file.

Defaut the value = 1000000 on the server (which is too little for large files) .
You can overwrite this with the above mentioned.
This solved a problem I had with Fancy_treeview_PDF with large reports.

I hope this helps

Regards
Harrie

Hello Harrie,
first I want to thank you for replying.
I have some problems to find the line you are talking about.
The only I found in the includes/session.php was this here :
// Request more resources - if we can/want to
if (!ini_get('safe_mode')) {
$memory_limit = Site::getPreference('MEMORY_LIMIT');
if ($memory_limit && strpos(ini_get('disable_functions'), 'ini_set') === false) {
ini_set('memory_limit', $memory_limit);

Is that the right point to change ?

Regards
Yvonne

You could add the "pcre.backtrack_limit" line at the very end of the file...

Hello Harrie,
I checked out the problem you talked about.
I tried to make a descendant report of a person who was born 1615 and have had a lot of descendants.
I know what you mean, because only the selected person with two children are shown.
