Finding main image was created by WGroleau
If an INDI has no level one photos, use a level two photo (if any) for the upper left corner. But it should be a photo, not an image of a document.

The current logic exists because many users absolutely did not want any level-2 images used...

I would agree with Greg.

Well, that's their privilege, but do they also want to prevent others from doing what makes sense to us? Level one facts and events are added via a pop-up that allows adding media objects to level two. And level two SOUR records allow us to put images at level three. Both of which are the best place to put some of them.

I would assume those users would not have any so why would they care if the software is capable of displaying what they don't have?

Makes sense to me to put a graduation picture in the graduation event. But I have to remember to also put it at level one.

I agree that a photo attached to a graduation event would make sense.

(Unless the photo is of the university campus or the university crest/logo).

But other types of photo might not. For example, a photograph of the church where a baptism occured or a scan from the parish register.

The current design gives you more control - but as you say, it means you must remember to do it.

Also, if it is put in the event and at level one, it will appear twice in the album. In fact, if N events have an image of a document in the (event).SOUR, then the album tab will have N thumbnails of that document, even if all the OBJE xrefs are the same.

This should not happen, and I cannot reproduce the issue.

We have some code to exclude duplicates:
