[SOLVED] Help for family tree was created by Wolfrum
Guten Tag.

Good day.

I hope someone can help me with a problem here.
A genealogist had made some mistakes in her family tree.
In order to test and fix them, I had exported the ged file of their family tree and changed some data in it.

Then I imported this data into a test family tree. The import did not work, and now I have a test family tree (not publicly viewable) in which I can no longer set anything.
It would be enough for me if I could delete this test somewhere.

Enclosed a picture to illustrate this.

Best regards Christian

If the GEDCOM file is invalid, webtrees 1.7 can become stuck - as you see.

webtrees 2.0 will handle this situation much better.

In your database, delete all the rows from the table wt_gedcom_chunk.

This will abort the import. You can now delete the tree, or try to import a different file.

I just had the same problem, when importing a GEDCOM file in webtrees 1.7.16, which was generated by export in webtrees 2.0.3. The import stops at 70.1 %. Is this percentage measured in lines or in bytes of the GEDCOM file? Or is there another possibility to check which GEDCOM record causes the import problem?
Importing the same file with webtrees 2.0.3 and checking the file with several GEDCOM validator programs doesn't show important errors.

What version of PHP are you using?

Recently, I accidentally just tried to import my GEDCOM file into webtrees 1.7 with PHP 7.4 (this is not supported!).

I discovered that the import would fail like this when you have an individual record with no `NAME` fact.

Thanks a lot! I had two INDI records without a NAME fact. Adding the "missing" NAME facts solved the problem. And yes, when updating to 2.0.3 I changed the server, which is hosting 1.7.16 and 2.0.3, to PHP 7.4.4.

There are lots of things in 1.7.16 that will not work properly with PHP 7.4

If you run both versions on the same server, you should use PHP 7.3.
